United Jazz Foundation

United Jazz Foundation's unique curriculum and educational programs address the U.S. Virgin Islands community's needs and build equal opportunities for socio-economically challenged families. The foundation is focused on providing positive and productive educational avenues for young people to become independent professionals in their field of work.

The programs of the United Jazz Foundation have enriched many lives in the U.S. Virgin Islands, resulting in increased musical literacy within the community. This has resulted in a significant workforce expansion in the areas of music educators and performers, which enables the United Jazz Foundation to extend its programming, add new performing ensembles, and implement new programs, such as:

  • The Caribbean Music Institute (on-campus Summer) Programs for Jazz, Caribbean, and Classical Music: High School level, College students, and Professional Educators & Performers from around the world. Location: University of the Virgin Islands, St. Thomas Campus.

  • The Caribbean Institute Orchestra (CMIO).
